URBAN MĀURI Hamilton Exhibition
“Urban Māuri”, is a collaborative touring exhibition that presents Māori artists from four different urban locations: Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton and Tāneatua.
The title ‘Urban Māuri’ is a play on the term ‘Urban Māori’. Māuri translates to life force in Māori cosmology, the exhibition explores our perceptions of what urban Māuri means and aims to encourage discussion through the communication of visual art forms presented by the artists involved.
Headline artists: Ahsin Ahsin, Janny Puamānuka, Te Marunui Hotene, Abigail Aroha Jensen, Selwyn Vercoe, Harlem Shine, G, Kelcy Taratoa and Que Bidois.
The Hamilton leg of this exhibition opens at Skinroom at 6pm, Friday the 22nd of September.
