A TASTE OF PLACE: STORIES OF FOOD AND LONGING- (In)Visible New Zealand Film Festival
A documentary exploring the link between food and identity in multicultural Auckland. People interviewed included Shruti Yatri, the eldest son of a Sikh who is an exhibiting artist and chef at Cobb Co.; Mr Hibru, an Ethiopian teacher working as an Auckland City Street Ambassador who arrived in New Zealand as a refugee; Florence Hing, a Chinese woman who grew up in a fruit shop in New Zealand during the 50s and 60s; and Minish Kumar, a Fijian Indian who owns Mahadeo Spices in Newton, Auckland.
Tickets $10. 7 pm screening, Q&A session to follow.
