Three local artists working in different styles and mediums have joined together to bring you 'Taking Flight', a group exhibition at the Burchell Pavilion in Te Awamutu. With a common theme of native birds (hence the title!) the exhibition features work from:
Joanne Bowe – who creates delicate pencil drawings that celebrate the very best of New Zealand’s unique flora and fauna;
Rebecca Dowman-Ngapo – a watercolour artist whose work is indicative of contemporary New Zealand culture, reflecting aspects of daily life with a child; drawing inspiration from local places visited, family narratives and moments in time; and
Toni Kingstone – whose paintings in acrylic and charcoal are inspired by nature and feature native birds and other forms entwined in landscapes, and abstract work in a variety of mediums.
Join them for the Exhibition Preview of original paintings on Friday 4 October from 5-7pm, or visit the exhibition during the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October from 10am-3pm when a pop-up shop will also be open with Limited Edition Prints from each artist.
