"If ever a show earned its exclamation point, it's this one!" -Wall Street Journal
"Calling Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA! a classic American musical is an understatement. Like Grant Wood's 'American Gothic' and Mark Twain's novels, or George Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' and Chuck Berry's rock 'n' roll, OKLAHOMA! is firmly embedded in the canon of America's greatest cultural creations." -Wichita Eagle
"There's nothing corny about this wonderful, fresh show. It's not just a classic American musical but—and this is the real surprise—a truthful, touching and gripping drama about growing up and falling in love, about dreams and nightmares." -London Daily Mail
Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! is wonderful entertainment for all the family, and our matinee performances are specially priced to encourage families - and particularly for Grandparents to share the experience of theatre with their grandchildren.
Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story.
Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant Oklahoma!
Rodgers & Hammerstein's first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today.
Why not consider dinner on a Friday or Saturday night? The specially catered buffet includes pork spare ribs and crumbed chicken wings, and a special children’s menu.

Family discounts are available on Matinee Shows only, both for Adult and Grandparents of up to 3 Children, conditions apply and validation of your tickets will be carried out by the staff at the Theatre.
