Come and celebrate Matariki 2019 by attending our July School Holiday workshops. We have two weeks of fun Māori art weaving activities that suit the whole whānau!

The first week focuses on developing your skills around using natural materials like harakeke/flax and creating a number of different types of raranga/weaving each day. $2 per participant.

Tues 9th - Manutukutuku - make your own kite
Wed 10th - Ngā Whetu - weave stars
Thurs 11th - Ngā putiputi - weave flowers

Second week focuses on making a small kakahu/cloak.
16th-18th July. $5 per participant

All materials supplied.

As a special treat, before each workshop, the Museum will be hosting visitors through the Whatu Manawa Exhibition on show in our Tangata Whenua Gallery from 10.30am-11.30am
