Hauraki House Gallery

The Coromandel Community Arts Council operates the Hauraki House and Art room in Hauraki House, Coromandel Town. From time to time we take on a special project to provide art for our community.

The Gallery is available for use for meetings, events or exhibitions for a small fee plus 10% commission on sales when used for an exhibition.

For further information or to make a booking please contact 07 8668 053

There are still some spaces available for summer 18/19 and bookings for 2019/20 are available but get in quick because the Gallery is very popular and well used over this time.

Details of current bookings are available on the Hauraki House Facebook page.

The Arts Council was created in1982 and established a gallery for use by local artists in the old Kapanga School building in the centre of Coromandel Town.

The school had closed down in 1977 and the beautiful old 1879 building was threatened with demolition. It was saved by locals who established the Hauraki House Committee who, along with funds from Lotteries Commission and support from The Thames-Coromandel District Council, restored the building and put it to good use.

The Arts Council shares the building with the Coromandel Players and the Coromandel Youth group.

The Gallery is available for use for a small fee and 10% commission on sales when used for an exhibition.

From time to time the Arts Council also promotes or creates other artistic projects in Coromandel.
