Hamilton City Council's Creative Communities Scheme - Now Open!

This is your sign! Get those creative juices flowing and fuel your creative spark with a little moola.
Administered by Creative Waikato, this funding opportunity aims to enhance creativity in Kirikiriroa Hamilton. The Hamilton City Council’s Creative Communities Scheme (HCC CCS) is looking for events, festivals, workshops or community driven creative activity that focus on one of three criteria: access and participation, diversity, or youth involvement. Whether your project is a play, a festival, a concert, an art exhibit, or something completely unique, they want to hear about it!
With just two funding rounds per year, this is the time to think about applying for any Matariki 2025 creative activity. Bring something spectacular to our wonderful Kirikiriroa community and be a part of the festivities. Adrienne Clothier, the funding guru at Creative Waikato, emphasises, “The beauty of the projects funded by the Creative Communities Scheme is that, in some way, they bring people together. Whether it’s a small group in a workshop learning new skills or a larger event where everyone is invited to enjoy a creative experience. Some projects may only happen once, but others have received their initial funding from the Creative Communities Scheme and gone on to become annual events in Kirikiriroa. Access to creative experiences in Kirikiriroa is an important part of living here.”
If you’re ready to submit your proposal, you can apply through the Council’s online funding application system.
